Description
What could stand to more reason than picking up an old Viennese tradition and turning it into something new? A two year process of designing found its peak in the asymmetric formation of floral patterns in the form of pixels. Old Viennese petit point embroidery versus the skilful asymmetry of Ikebana (the traditional Japanese art of arranging flowers).
The fan is hand-painted in Spain – the land of the fan –, after approval the printed cotton is affixed by hand and returned to Austria, where I myself control it.
Today the fan enjoys its renaissance and can be understood as an analogue equivalent to digital flirt apps, to get your lady’s or your man’s heart hooked. A „flower bouquet to go“ including the „secret language of the fan“.
