The table’s final concept is prepared as a CAD drawing in precision work, a cardboard model in small scale helps visualizing the proportions. With the help of an Upper Austrian steel company all parameters are set. Via laser outline, slits and holes are cut into the untreated steel-plates. 40 counterbores threaded in the middle rings are to hold the socket screws which tightly stretch the black net. After that it’s time for careful welding.
Consisting of 47 components and constructed in 146 steps, the side table CIRCUS is wiped clean and polished with Ballistol, a skin friendly and environmentally sound oil for protection and maintenance. The auburn patina that will come with the years turns the table into something unique.
In the middle there is space left for a bowl of succulents. Now the „talkative side table“ built around a circus ring is ready for its audience.
